I have lived in south Florida since 1970. I have been photographing and videoing Florida's natural beauty for over 50 years. Whether my subject is a rare Ghost orchid, or one of south Florida's rare mammals, like the Everglades mink or Florida panther, I love the opportunity of spending time in nature.
My new book, "Catching endangered Florida Panthers" is filled with amazing photographs of panthers in the wilds of south Florida. Most were captured on a custom dslr camera trap in Fakahatchee Strand and Big Cypress.
The book focuses on the Florida panther' day-to-day activities, their history, and efforts by the state to protect them from extinction.
Seeing a Florida panther in person was a dream come true for me 30 years ago. And to date, I have been very fortunate to have seen 18. Each sighting is amazing. These images make you feel like your are just feet away from a wild panther.
